It’s hard to keep a good thing to yourself.
The “Moonwalk” exhibit, which opens May 4, comes as museums around the world are exploring ways to use virtual reality technology to tell stories and engage with visitors, and as the Smithsonian promotes the recently revamped Arts and Industries Building with a renewed focus on exploring the future.
The exhibit is part of an ongoing series exploring potential “artifacts of the future.” It relies on more than 7,000 photos taken by NASA astronauts on missions to the moon, stitched together and converted to 3D imagery by humans and AI software through a process called photogrammetry.
We’re so proud to announce that our first-of-its-kind shared, synchronized immersive reality experience “Expedition Palau” has been named an Webby Honoree for Public Service & Activism and has been nominated for The Webby Award in technical achievement!
”Expedition Palau” kicked off the United Nations World Oceans Week, we partnered with the ocean stewardship non-profit The Hydrous and Lenovo Education for a “dive” under the waters of Palau. This guided #virtualreality experience allowed for people across the globe to share in the wonder of the underwater world together, at the same time.
Our founder was the VR Development Producer for National Press Photographers Association 1st prize for “Innovation” winner for Best of Photojournalism 2020! The VR series is about Chomolungma (Mt Everest) and the National Geographic and ROLEX Perpetual Planet expedition in 2019.

“You have to make it relatable, accessible, and enjoyable,” Della Volla concludes. “If you don’t have that, then you’re doing a disservice to science, to learning, to everyone in your community. Lifelong learners want to know they have a place to go, and it’s gotta feel like a place they’re welcomed in.”
